Green, Blue and Pink DSi

With the release of the Japanese versions of the Nintendo DSi console, there are plans for other colours besides the black and the white one. Nintendo has announced three new colours which are only exclusive to Japan which are:

• Pink
• Lime Green
• Metallic Blue

Originally, the DSi console was released on Japan since Novermber 1, 2008, but since the new colours will only be released on March 20. The texture of the case has been transitioned from glossy to matte. This can eliminate unsightly fingerprints from the previous models such as the DS Lite.

With the worldwide release of the console, there is also another colour scheme such as the Matte Blue DSi. Along with the Matte Black colour, they will be released in North America, Australia, and Europe in April 2-5, 2009.

Although the new Nintendo DSi console has regional locks in games, this probably means that getting the nice Pink DSi won’t let you play your own regions’ games (as of April 2009).

But having the black or the white one isn’t that bad for starters. With the stock colours, you won’t be missing much on the gaming and its features. There are also many kits that can easily alter the colour of the handheld console although being installed only as add-ons such as guards and membrane protectors.

With the new DSi consoles' hardware, there are notable new features such as a larger screen size. This can easily mean better gameplay as you won’t have to have much trouble pressing the screen for menus and other gameplay related actions. The unit is also slimmer. It is approximately 12% thinner than previous models, giving more weight to the term portability. It doesn't matter which colour you pick of course, the pink DSi has the same features as the blue and green DSi

There is also improvement in the audio aspect. The speakers have been upgraded to a better quality compared to previous DS models. Additionally, there is AAC audio playback, this can then double the green DSi into a gaming console as well as a portable audio player.

You can also download content from the DSi shop. There are many applications that can easily enhance the usability of the pink Nintendo DSi with programs such as Opera Browser, Clocks, Calendars and many more. There are also games that can be purchased via Nintendo points in which the games range from 200 to 800 points.

Whichever shade you want, whether it be blue, pink or green DSi; you can still enjoy the full experience regardless of colour. The release has been highly anticipated by the public on the rest of the world as Japan has embraced the new model positively, as mentioned, you can get your fix in as early as April.
